Organization of Science and Technology


Organization of Science and Technology (IOST) is one of the pioneer specialized establishment under Tribhuvan University.Iost has at present 13 Central Departments, 25 constituent grounds and 71 partnered grounds. This organization has been effectively serving the nation in the field of Science and innovation and in addition in examination. All the Central Departments run general Master and Ph.D. Programs. Some grounds run both the Bachelor and Master projects.

Countless work on investigative examination ventures dispatched in the Central Departments at M.Sc. levels. The quantity of researchers doing Ph. D. in distinctive ranges is expanding each year. IOST has given high need to community trade program with a specific end goal to make resources research researcher and understudies more competant in national and also global the scholarly world. The Institute has enough linkage and joint effort with distinctive services, national and universal associations and scholarly foundations to cultivate the examination action as needs be.

Vision and destinations

IOST plans to advance the nature of its specialties as far as compelling instructing learning exercises, research exercises, quality training and to create them as Center of Excellence by setting up very much prepared labs, Libraries, utilizing high talented man controls and giving consultative administrations in science and innovation in close coordinated effort with national and universal organizations. As of late TU Executive Council has settled on choice to build up IOST as focal point of brilliance under the chairmanship of the Dean. To work in this heading a board of trustees has been framed and a five year key arrangement is under development.

The principle targets of IOST are as per the following:

To give adequate foundation to examine in IOST,

To present new subjects in science and innovation at distinctive divisions and schools,

To create high-talented learning based labor,

To assemble assets for innovative work,

To sort out course, gathering, and workshop at national and worldwide level,

To lead refresher courses in every subject to make resources scholastically more capable.

Late Programs

Four year college education in Horticulture and gardening has been begun in Mahendra Ratna Campus, Ilam (Eastern Nepal) since 2012.

4 year B.Sc. since 2012.

Focal Departments of Mathematics, Microbiology, Statistics and Environmental science have been begun under semester framework since the year 2012 while Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Geology and Hydrology and Meteorology have been begun in semester framework since 2014.
